KURT COBAIN, NEVERMIND POP UP EXHIBITION

At The Museum of Style Icons, Newbridge Silverware, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland.

Kurt Cobain founded the band that has been described as the soundtrack to ‘Generation X’, and now some of the Nirvana frontman’s most treasured items will be put on public display in the Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware for three days only (24-26th of October, 2023)

The exhibition, in conjunction with Julien’s Auctions is a ‘must see’ for Nirvana fans all over the world and will feature some very rare and extremely valuable pieces of property.  The pop-up exhibition offers fans the chance to see some of Cobain’s really important musical instruments, handwritten letters and stage worn outfits before they are auctioned by Julien’s Auctions later this year.

Kurt Cobain’s Skystang I Fender Mustang Electric Guitar is the top highlight and will be on display at the Museum of Style Icons in its final appearance in Europe before its auction.

The legendary guitar has an estimated value of $1 – $2 million dollars.

The exhibition will also include handwritten notes, cardigans, and Cobain’s favourite Levi jeans which he wore at countless gigs.

Newbridge Silverware and the Museum of Style Icons, together with Julien’s Auctions will also open another exhibition on the 24th of October, 2023 which features garments and property from The Collection of Dusty Hill of ZZ Top.  ZZ Top entertained audiences all over the world with their signature sounds of blues and rock.  Synonymous with 1980’s pop culture, ZZ Top’s greatest hits included tunes such as ‘Gimme All Your Lovin’, ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ ‘Tush’ and ‘Legs’.  The Dusty Hill of ZZ Top exhibition will run at the Museum of Style Icons, Newbridge Silverware until the 19th of November, 2023.
