‘ALL THAT GLITTERS AT ANANTARA THE MARKER DUBLIN HOTEL’

-GOLD THEMED PARTY MARKS THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF  ANANTARA THE MARKER DUBLIN HOTEL-

Over 200 guests enjoyed a ‘gold-themed’ launch party which celebrated the official opening of Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel in Dublin’s Docklands last night (10th of May, 2023).  Guests were treated to what was one of Dublin’s glitziest parties which was hosted by Michael Davern, General Manager of Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel and Executive Chef, Gareth Mullins.

 

Broadcaster, fashionista and influencer, Lorraine Keane was the MC for the evening and spoke on stage with the various Anantara The Marker Dublin ‘guru’s’ who are the passionate experts in their respective fields.  The gurus she spoke to included the Spa and Wellness Director, Bodina Quereshi, Director of People and Culture, Claire Robert and Chef, Gareth Mullins. Each of the gurus spoke about how they provide authentic, ultra luxurious experiences for their guests including private dining on the rooftop at the famous hotel which is called ‘Breakfast by Design’, ‘Spice Spoons’, a private sailing and cookery lesson with the chef or rooftop yoga and wild swimming with the wellness guru.

 

Michael Davern, General Manager said, “We are very excited that Anantara has made its debut in Ireland, it’s an ultra-luxurious brand which celebrates and works with genuine and authentic visitor experiences, people, and places.”

 

Special guests in attendance included the brother of the Chairman and Founder of Minor Hotels and Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, Skip Heinecke and his wife Kathleen who officially cut the ribbon to launch the hotel alongside Michael Davern and Lorraine Keane.

 

Irish wolfhounds wearing big gold bows were outside the main door as guests arrived through the brand new, state of the art front entrance. Inside a string quartet played contemporary versions of well-known artists music created a ‘Bridgerton’ inspired vibe. Guests wore gold in homage to the Anantara brand colours and drank Bollinger champagne and gold leaf cocktails.

 

Inside DJ Mo Kelly and saxophonist, Natalia entertained the guests who feasted on Chef Gareth Mullins culinary creations.  Various grazing stations were set up in the ballroom where guests could sample such delicacies as John Stone Dry Aged Irish Beef aged with Teelings Whiskey, hand shucked Flaggy Shore oysters with lemon, tabasco and champagne and shallot dressing. Various Irish farmhouse cheeses were on offer to guests and handmade sweets and chocolates provided a sweet finish to a wonderful culinary journey.

 

Camilla Coburn Davis, Director of PR for Anantara Europe was on hand to present 13 vouchers to some lucky guests who won weekend breaks in some of the other Anantara exciting destinations on the continent which include Amalfi, Nice, Rome, Budapest, Amsterdam, Vilamoura and Marbella just to mention a few.

 

Since Anantara has taken over what was previously known as’ The Marker Hotel’, all of the 187 bedrooms have been renovated, the bar and public areas have been reimagined and a brand-new restaurant ‘Forbes Street by Gareth Mullins’ will open in the coming weeks.

 

Famous faces spotted at the launch included multi-Oscar nominated film maker, Jim Sheridan, broadcasters Pat Kenny and Mia Dunphy, influencers and fashionistas Marietta Doran and Celia Holman Lee, former RTE presenter, Mary Kennedy, Virgin media’s Martin King and Muireann O’Connell, fashion designer Deborah Veale and RTE broadcaster, Sharon Ní Bheoláin.  For more see www.anantara.com
