INTO KILDARE HOSTED MEMBERS EVENT AT KILDARE VILLAGE

Into Kildare, the County Kildare Tourism Board hosted an exclusive member’s event in partnership with Kildare Village last week. This important event was a great success and met with exceptional feedback with over 65 attendees on the day. This key business event gave members the opportunity to network and build valuable connections across the county with other leading retail, tourism, and dining outlets.

Members of Into Kildare were greeted on the day by Victor Biffi Rosano, Kildare Village’s Business Director, who has been a senior member of The Bicester Collection for a number of years. The Bicester Collection has 11 shopping destinations across Europe and China which were created and operated by Value Retail. Kildare Village is known as one of Ireland’s leading five-star shopping destination with over 100 boutiques to choose from driving tourism to the County of Kildare.

Eoghan O’Mara Walsh, Chief Executive of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) attended the Into Kildare Members Event as guest speaker. Speaking on the day he said, “Kildare has such a super tourism product – offering a wonderful, rich and good quality product”. The latest figures released for Q2 by ITIC revealed tourism figures in Ireland were at 1.6 million generating €1.9 million in revenue for the Irish economy. The most valuable market in Q2 for Irish tourism was North America which accounted for a spend of €827 million.

Áine Mangan, CEO of Into Kildare addressed all members of the tourism board in attendance with an update of the year to date as well as future plans and collaborations. Speaking after the event, she said “We were delighted to be able to host our members event with Eoghan O’Mara Walsh as guest speaker giving valuable industry insight at Kildare Village. We have noted the importance of regular engagements amongst members and seen the benefits of how members can cross collaborate in the industry.”

Leading travel journalist, commentator and Kildare native Eoghan Corry was also in attendance at the Into Kildare Members Event to gain a deeper insight to current Kildare tourism and trade and meet with local members.
