Trainer Gordan Elliott’s Roaring Bull stormed to victory in the Dooley Insurance Flat Race at Punchestown on Tuesday evening, rounding off a brilliant opening day’s action at the Co. Kildare racecourse. Jockey Lisa O Neil guided the 25/1 Gigginstown House Stud horse home to victory giving trainer, Gordan Elliott his first win of the day.
Dooley Insurance Group, one of Ireland’s largest independent insurance brokers, were the title sponsors of the race as they also celebrated the recent launch of their new Equine Insurance Division, a sector of their business which will help those involved in the equine industry gain greater access to insurance that is tailored to their needs and not have to put up with a one size fits all kind of cover.
It also helps the Naas-based brokers celebrate 60 years in business, and they have picked the ideal way to launch their new division, with the Punchestown Festival providing a more than appropriate platform. The company will also sponsor another race – the Dooley Insurance WFA Steeplechase – on the final day of the festival.
Speaking after the race, Tim Dooley, Managing Director of Dooley Insurance Group, stated; “That was a fantastic exhibition of flat racing and we are really proud to be the sponsors of this race. It was a great day as a whole, and to have such an exciting conclusion to the opening day capped it off brilliantly.”
“Sponsoring a race at Punchestown has always been very important to the Dooley Insurance Group, as it is always a major event in the calendar for both businesses and punters in Kildare, and to have such involvement in the week’s events is great. We’re really proud to be celebrating 60 years in business and the launch of our equine division is another way in which we are looking to expand our market and provide more services to our customers.”
Having identified a shortage of Custody & Control and European Covers in Ireland by conversing with the customers they have served throughout almost 60 years in business, Dooley Insurance Group will be tailoring policy needs across all sectors of the equine industry through their new department.
“We are committed to providing the best and most competitive insurance cover for those who are working in a number of different roles throughout the equine industry, whether it be in riding schools, stud farms, training yards or racecourses.
“There has been cover available before, but that has traditionally been for farms and businesses, not specifically for the equine industry. People have had to look further afield for insurance specific to the equine industry, but we will provide cover for all eventualities and solutions to meet the needs of everyone in the equine industry.”
A wide range of sectors of the equine industry will be covered under the Dooley Insurance Group’s new department, ranging from freelance instructors right up to racehorse trainers. The Kildare firm also boast extremely competitive pricing on horsebox covers, an area that some brokers will not even cover.
